Are you a community minded BCBA or UKBA (cert) who is passionate about promoting social interactions and play for children with Autism, in our fully subscribed and fun Saturday club for children with Autism?
Focus Surrey, an established charity (no. 1178378) are looking for two experienced BCBAs/ UKBA(cert)s who will supervise the training of volunteers and parents in the principles of ABA. The lead consultant(s) are in charge of coordinating, planning and delivering a two-day theoretical training to volunteers and parents. On a weekly basis the lead consultants also serve to mediate parents’ concerns and provide positive support for Supervisors, room leads and volunteers, by creating a supportive and cohesive work/play environment.
Focus Surrey has been running a popular Saturday club since 2016 and has an opportunity for you! The registered charity supports children aged 3 to 16 on a one-to-one basis in a fun, friendly and child-centred environment in Morden, Surrey. We will start our 16th term in 2025.
Responsibilities
You will attend every club session to assist with the training of our volunteer play assistants, supervising the ABA tutors/supervisors; demonstrate play skills and provide valuable advice and input to the children in the club.
You will supervise up to 4 ABA tutors and 30 volunteers who will each be working on a 1-to-1 or 2-to-1 ratio with children who are grouped according to their abilities.
You will be supported by an established group of trustees, administrators and an operations team.
Qualifications
You will be a BCBA or UKBA (cert)
You must already be experienced working with children, ideally with experience working in schools and on home programmes and have experience leading a team.
